Central Pulse vs Southern Steel
Wednesday 24 May | 7:40pm
Doors Open: 6:40pm
Game Time: 7:40pm
Showcasing a mix of proven international experience with a youthful clutch of rising talent, there is an exciting sense of anticipation for the Central Pulse heading into the new era of the ANZ Premiership. From fresh-faced teenaged schoolgirl Tiana Metuarau to the well credentialed resume of Silver Ferns captain Katrina Grant, the 2017 edition of the Pulse offers a bit of everything. It is a well-balanced side featuring four internationals in Grant, Phoenix Karaka, Cathrine Tuivaiti and English import Sara Bayman.
Noisy and vibrant with a close-up and personal atmosphere, the Central Pulse will make their way to the Arena for the first time in 2017 for their Round 9 clash against the Southern Steel.
The Pulse have a special affinity with Te Rauparaha Arena where they enjoy a strong support base, those lucky enough to get a ticket being almost within touching distance of the playing court.
With Wednesday night matches added to the mix this season, this gives the Pulse faithful another opportunity to get their netball fix in the team's first home mid-week match.
The best of the New Zealand teams last season, the Steel remain the most settled coming into the new era of the ANZ Premiership having retained the bulk of their squad, which includes the imposing figure of Jamaican shooter Jhaniele Fowler-Reid and a clutch of fresh-faced Silver Ferns.
