Get out and about, keep fit and active, join the club and get on the bus – as long as you're aged 50+

Getting on doesn't mean you should stop getting out. If you're over 50, join the Lifetimers Leisure Club, and get whisked away on adventures and excursions. We've got:

  • full- and half-day trips in the Greater Wellington, Manawatu and Wairarapa regions
  • outings 2 or 3 times a month to gardens, historical sites, exhibitions, sanctuaries, shows, ferry trips , the races and big walks (and quite often we find an extra few minutes to hunt down a cafe for a cuppa and a bite to eat)
  • regular evening outings for a night at the theatre, a ballet, or a musical
  • a Christmas lunch.

We meet at the Arena and travel to and from the venue by chartered bus or van. No parking hassles and a chance to chat with each other about the highlights afterwards.

The Lifetimers Club is a group programme and we deliver our trips activities in a manner that require our groups to be coordinated. You may be asked to stay as a group. Please don’t be surprised or offended if this occurs.

To help us look after you and manage our health and safety responsibilities, when you complete a booking form to take part in an activity, you will be asked to tell us whether you suffer from any existing medical conditions.

You will also be asked to supply the details of a daytime, non-travelling contact person we can contact in the event of an emergency.

There are limitations to the support we can offer on trips, so not all trips are for everyone. If we feel someone’s safety and/or enjoyment, or the safety and/or enjoyment of others will be compromised, some people might not be able to take part in our activities.

We do make every effort to be as inclusive as possible, and provide as many opportunities for everyone to take part in our activities. But if we do have concerns about the abilities of people to safely take part in one of our activities we will reserve the right to refuse participation.

Fees may be non-refundable.

All withdrawals from any activity must be made two working days prior to an event, trip, or activity. Some activities will not be refundable if a client withdraws, due to booking requirements, for example if we have already booked tickets and/or van rental. While we will make every effort to fill vacated places should the situation arise, the original booker is responsible for excess costs that may arise if we are unable to do so.

If a programme is cancelled due to low registrations or unforeseen circumstances such as weather, and we make an informed decision to cancel an activity, all monies will be refunded.

Registration is confirmed with a Confirmation Sheet, received by hand at reception or in the post. If you have not received your Confirmation Sheet there is no guarantee that we have received your registration, especially if this has been sent by post. Just so you know, any mail sent to Council may take up to a week to reach the Arena as it first goes through Council's mailing system.

If in doubt please check that you have been registered, either by calling Te Rauparaha Arena Reception on (04) 237 1521, or Lynda McAndrew on (04) 237 3556. Please notify reception, or write on your booking form of any medical condition or disability, to allow us to provide the correct assistance and support.
